In 1981, Derek Cassels, the editor of the Medical Post, asked me to do a series of articles on Traditional Healing Around the World. He called the articles “Doctor on the Wing”. Since then, I have been attempting to make the images of far away places more available to everyone. We live on a small planet and photos are a way to remind us of our humanity, our unity and what a beautiful place we live in.
I believe we see parts of ourselves in the images. Whether it is a Chief from Irian Jaya or a Sunset from Sri Lanka, the photo helps transport us back in time to a place we have been. The brain has difficulty differentiating between what is real or what is imagined. When you look at the photo of the Beach, you can let your mind have a “beach experience” and how you once interacted with a similar place. Maybe you will be inspired to plan your next vacation.
At home and in the office, I have tried to surround myself with pictures of beauty, peace, and fun. I love images of sunsets, beaches, forests, animals and people. It helps me remember where I have been and that the world is a friendly, amazing place.
I hope you get a kick out of my images.
